Bachelor of Engineering (Robotics & Mechatronics) / Bachelor of Science (Computer Science & Software Engineering)
Robert Bosch GmbH, Stuttgart Germany

As a part of my 4th year of studies I undertook Industrial Based Learning (IBL) at Robert Bosch GmbH, Stuttgart Germany. My work involved working with simulation engineers, and technical specialists at the cutting edge of technology. I became involved in a number of projects some of which were globally broad. As well as a fantastic technical experience, the contacts and friends I have made and the diverse cultural experiences I have gained are all priceless to a future international career.

Voluntary Work Placements and Vacation Work

Work experience whether paid or unpaid is highly valued by prospective employers. It is also an opportunity for students to actually experience job functions and to determine whether their perception of a certain job function actually matches the reality of a particular role. Careers and Employment provides some opportunities for students to target organisations of their choice in order to obtain course related voluntary work experience or to target those organisations offering paid vacation placements.

Career Hunting and Interactive Programs

The Careers & Employment Unit offers a number of interactive programs to help students with:

  • Skills Sorting
  • Networking
  • Interview simulation
If you have a job interview coming up there is an interactive interview program called the 'Interviewer'. The 'Interviewer' is a particularly useful interactive web cam program which allows you to practice responses to real interview questions and play back to see how you perform.

To book a session with the 'Interviewer' contact the Careers & Employment Unit on 9214 5360 and ask for 'The Interviewer'.
