Australian Learning and Teaching Council Grants (National)
This grants scheme has 3 programs with a funding pool of $11 million in 2010. The programs are:

Leadership for Excellence in Learning and Teaching Program

Supports systematic, structured and sustainable models of academic leadership in higher education at the disciplinary, cross-disciplinary and institutional levels (Funding range: $80,000 - $220,000)
Swinburne closing date - Round 1: 29 January 2010
Swinburne closing date - Round 2: 4 May 2010

Priority Projects Program
Addresses the identified priorities of assessment standards, assessment practices and reporting, curriculum renewal, teaching and learning spaces and internationalisation (Funding range: $80,000 - $220,000)
Swinburne closing date - Round 1: 11 February 2010
Swinburne closing date - Round 2: 8 June 2010

Competitive Grants Program
Supports issues of emerging and continuing importance, the diversity of the student body and innovation in learning and teaching, including the role of new technologies (Funding range: $80,000 - $220,000)
Swinburne closing date - Round 2: 6 April 2010

Process

STEP 1

Go to the ALTC website and download the appropriate grant scheme guidelines document and form

STEP 2

Discuss and prepare your full proposal with your team. This includes all external collaborators.

STEP 3

Obtain approval (letter of support) from Faculty

STEP 4

STEP 5

Submit your application to Associate Professor Alex Stojcevski (astojcevski@swin.edu.au) by the internal due date.
NB: Each grant scheme has a different ALTC due date and therefore different Swinburne due date (dates listed above).

STEP 6

Swinburne’s Learning & Teaching Scholarship Advisory Group (LTSAG) review all applications and provide feedback. Applicants have the opportunity to revise their applications and resubmit to LTSAG for endorsement prior to submitting to the ALTC.
