Research

Our research spans the breadth of the aviation industry. For an aircraft to undertake useful work there must exist a complex, interrelated system of organisations, infrastructure, people, skills, information and activities. Enhancing and optimising that system demands skilful investigation.

Our researchers work with industry to understand how decisions are made in complex, fast-paced and safety-critical environments, such as operations control centres and flight decks; how government policy and strategy shapes the industry as a whole; how fatigue and other safety concerns can be managed in crew, how best to market an airline's product; and much more. It’s a constantly evolving challenge and we aim to excel.
