Adriana de Souza e Silva is an assistant professor in the Department
of Communication at North Carolina State University (NCSU), USA. From
2004 to 2005 Dr. de Souza e Silva was a Senior Researcher at the University
of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Graduate School of Education and
Information Studies (GSE&IS) at the National Center for Research
on Evaluation, Standards, and Student Testing (CRESST), and from 2001
to 2004 she was a visiting scholar at the UCLA Department of Design/Media
Arts.
Dr. de Souza e Silva holds a Ph.D. in communications and culture
and a master’s degree in communication and image technology
from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her research
focuses on how new media interfaces change our relationship to space
and how we create new social environments via media art and pervasive
games.
