Alicia King is a Hobart-based new media artist whose work addresses the changing notions of self through new technologies. She is currently studying a PhD in sculpture at the University of Tasmania’s School of Art, and is also researching within the UTAS School of Medicine, where she is growing semi-living sculptural forms, through human tissue culture techniques. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally, and in 2007 is travelling to Europe to participate in a number of artist residencies.
