Biography

For close to three decades I have been making a sustained contribution to higher education teaching and learning, ensuring students have positive and enriching learning experiences, so they can graduate as future ready either for employment or further studies. Since 2009 I have been responsible for all undergraduate programs within the School of Business, Law and Entrepreneurship. As well as sitting on several School committees, I am the Deputy Chair of Academic Senate Courses Committee, Assurance of Learning champion (AACSB), a registered TEQSA expert having completed many external reviews, and an assessor for the AAUT awards. From 2017 to 2020 I chaired the university wide Academic Integrity Working Party.
I have taught and conducted professional development courses locally and offshore, both face to face and virtually. I have been fortunate to be recognised for my efforts through several faculty teaching excellence awards (1997, 1998 and 2005); Industry Based Learning (IBL) Mentor award (2008); Faculty Corporate Citizen Award (2009); Recipient of the Vice Chancellor's Teaching Award (2006); and Vice Chancellor's Lifetime Achievement Award (2015). In 2021 my teaching and leadership achievements have been acknowledged through becoming a Fellow of HERDSA (Higher education research and development society of Australasia).
I have taught units at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels relating to Marketing and Operations Management; Chaired the Honours Committee for nearly a decade; and supervised Honours, Masters and double degree final year research projects, as well a being PhD supervisor. I have been involved in several industry related research projects, published several research papers both related to marketing as well as higher education, and have experience in supervising PhD students. As I am a passionate educator, I have been an active HERDSA member (Higher education research and development society of Australasia) for many years and an elected member of the National Executive since 2017.
