Senior Lecturer

Biography

I joined the Swinburne University of Technology to design, convene and lecture two engineering management units. These units were outsourced from a private company previously. I introduced many initiatives that enhanced students’ learning experience and knowledge remarkably. As a result of these initiatives, these units have become core units for all engineering students. The basis for these initiatives was encouraging students’ participation in activities that boost transparency, benchmarking, teamwork, and feedback. Engineering management units are among the few units that students often refer to be applicable/useful during their professional placement periods. Furthermore, Engineering Management 1 unit is transitioning to Engineering Project Management to be co-delivered by Turner and Townsend, one of the school’s industry partners in the construction industry.

I am also the Work Integrated Learning Coordinator at the School of Engineering, where I have been involved not only in managing of the student’s industry placements but also, I have been contributing to the implementation of the overall strategy of Swinburne University on enhancing the employability of students. This has been progressing through the evaluation of current content and delivery of units, and refining and setting up processes that could facilitate increased direct involvement and contributions of the industry in engineering learning experience.

I have been successful in the supervision of Ph.D. students in the field of sustainability management, efficiency and productivity analysis of the banking sector, and building information in the facilities management sector. My current Ph.D. students are working on integrated performance management systems and digital literacy for the construction management field.
