Notifiable Low Risk Dealings

Notifiable Low Risk Dealings (NLRDs) are dealings with GMOs that have been assessed as posing low risk to the health and safety of people and the environment provided certain risk management conditions are met.

NLRDs must be:

  • conducted by persons with appropriate training and experience within a facility certified to either Physical Containment level 1 (PC1) or PC 2;
  • assessed by the SBC; and
  • transported in accordance with the Regulator's Guidelines for the Transport of GMOs.

Please complete the Application for Biosafety Clearance form as well as the Application for Notifiable Low Risk Dealings (NLRDs) suitable for Physical Containment level 2 (PC2). Submit the form via email to the Research Ethics Office at resethics@swinburne.edu.au.
