Swinburne University of Technology has been named amongst the top research-intensive universities in the world according to a number of prestigious world academic ranking lists.

In 2011, Swinburne consolidated its place for a third year in a row in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) - formerly known as the Shanghai Jiao Tong Rankings. The ARWU also named Swinburne as one of the top 100 research universities in the world in the field of physics.

Swinburne has also been named in the top 400 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2011-2012 and top 450 by the QS World University Rankings 2011, which also awarded Swinburne 5-star ratings for graduate employability, infrastructure and internationalisation.


2011 Good Universities Guide

Swinburne has established itself as one of Victoria's leading universities, having been rated by the Good Universities Guide (Postgraduate) as the highest-rated in Victoria for graduate satisfaction in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011.

The 2011 Good Universities Guide (Postgraduate) recently awarded Swinburne five star ratings for teaching quality, graduate satisfaction and generic skills.

Swinburne also received a four star rating for research intensivity, amongst the highest in Victoria.

The Good Universities Guide is Australia's only comprehensive degree and university ratings guide, releasing an annual publication rating universities in a number of important categories.
