Staff profiles
Kathy Thomas – course co-ordinator
Kathy works across teaching roles and project work.
She has developed two niche postgraduate qualifications in executive administration and public relations and convenes both of these.
Kathy has also developed these courses to be delivered online, providing an alternate and flexible study option for students.
Joanne Jenson – Organisational function and dynamics
Joanne has over 30 years experience in administration and is passionate about helping students achieve their career goals.
Her employment history has included a range of positions in public and private sectors, banking, real estate and medical sectors.
Jo has a Master in Workplace Education and is currently completing her Doctorate in Education.
She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Education and Training, a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training and a qualification in Business and Marketing.
Bernadette Van Lunenburg – Managing in a complex world
Bernadette has studied a Bachelor of Business with a major in Management, a Diploma of Business (Management) and is currently studying the Master of Business Management.
She has close to 20 years experience in the workforce in areas of training, management, sales, marketing and managing her own business.
Bernadette has been teaching at Swinburne for nine years. She enjoys the challenges of teaching students on a ‘virtual’ campus finding online learning with students extremely rewarding.
Sue Buck – Communication management
Sue has experience assisting people develop skills for successful project management across a range of fields.
She has expertise in education and training, holding a Certificate IV in Workplace Training, and a Certificate in Vocational Teaching skills.
Her clients include Australia Post, City of Kingston, Masterfoods, Freehills, Origin Energy, Brotherhood of St Laurence and Godfrey Hirst.
Claire Tellefson – Communication management
Claire has a diverse and extensive range of skills in the area of electronic communications.
She has worked at Swinburne for nine years developing learning materials, resources and teaching tools.
Claire has a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma of Education and is currently completing her Diploma of Vocational Education and Training.
