2007 Business Transformer saves 2,892 tonnes of carbon!

In 2007, the Business Transformer II was delivered to twelve businesses within the Shire of Yarra Ranges (SYR).

The second year of the program enjoyed significant support and funding from the SYR itself and Sustainability Victoria (SV) and witnessed some remarkable achievements amongst its participants.

Focusing on the delivery of low-carbon emission solutions to business, the participants succeeded in reducing their combined greenhouse gas emissions by 2,892 tonnes!

Public advocates/critics act as panelists “chewing the fat” with a concerned public.
Panelists introduce topics in the first hour, the second hour will be prearranged public comment followed by open discussion.

Senate candidates climate change debate
November 2007

Hear Liberal, Labor, Green and Democrat Senate candidates debate climate change issues at:

Elgin Inn Hotel
75 Burwood Road, Hawthorn
Wednesday 7 November at
7:30 p.m

The candidates will be Lyn Allison Democrats, Richard Di Natale Greens, Jacinta Collins ALP, and Scott Ryan Liberals. The candidates will speak on two topics – how their party’s policies on climate change are more effective than other parties, and what percentage of our power sector they see being coal and what renewables by 2050, and what moves they would take towards that during their terms of office.

There will be a panel of three experts who will ask some questions of clarification, and there will opportunity for candidates to question each other.
There is capacity for only 120 people upstairs at Elgin Inn and there is parking behind the nearby shopping centre (close to Power St)

Come early to ensure a seat.

Dr Bob Willard , sustainable business expert from Canada , provides an opportunity for government, education business and sustainable practitioner's communities to engage in discussion and action for sustainability.

Bob knows the metrics, engagement strategies and industry drivers for sustainability and how to strategically incorporate these factors into your organization or business.

A range of seminar topics and formats will attract those wanting to know more about the quantified advantages of sustainable business practices, updates on sector information and methods to convince business of the sustainability advantage.

In the Latrobe Valley , focus will be on the quantified sustainable business case and will initiate a discussion on a Regional Carbon Neutral Future. Max Dumais of Ahead of the Game will support Bob's afternoon workshop with an electronic meeting system.

Dr Willard, with the support of sustainability experts from interstate, will deliver a 1 day sustainability event for Melbourne 's Western Region. The event will be hosted at the Sustainability award winning Williamstown High School. A Regional Carbon Neutral Future for the West is also included in key topics.
