Inaugural Sustainability Alumni Forum

December 2006

A provocative but amusing evening to wrap up the year

From roast lamb and three veg to yak steak and bamboo shoots - Is Australian rural industry an endangered species? As 1/65th of Chinas population shouldn't we just trade mineral products for food?

Tuesday 12th December 2006, 6:30pm for a 7pm start, Lecture Theatre TD121, Swinburne University Hawthorn Campus. Cost $15 per person.

Come along to join in and listen to a lively discussion. A discussion panel of 4 representing the farming community, the media/rural consulting, academia and the conservation movement will kick off the evening; facilitated by National Centre for Sustainability Manager Linda Condon. Following presentations, discussion will be open to the audience. Session will close with drinks and finger food. Please extend the invitation to any colleagues, friends or family who you think might be interested.

Panel speakers:

Professor Lindsay Falvey is past Dean and Professor of Agriculture at University of Melbourne, a Life Member of Clare Hall at the University of Cambridge, a Fellow of the Academy of Technological Science and Engineering and of the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science.
