Decade of Education for Sustainable Development Forum

February 2005

2005 marks the start of the United Nations International Initiative, the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD). As the peak body for Environmental Education within Victoria, the Victorian Association for Environmental Education has organised a forum for Victoria. The first forum was held on the 31st January, where delegate heard about the take up of this initiative from speakers from federal and state Government.

The second DESD forum has been organised for the 17th March 2005, 4pm - 6pm. John Fien, who is on the UNESCO Asia Pacific Region DESD committee will be speaking at the forum following his recent attendance at the Asia Pacific Regional DESD planning meeting. Workshops to discuss the role of this group / forum in supporting, promoting and implementing the initiative will follow this talk.

If you want to find out a bit more about the Decade, or have ideas on what we can do to support this initiative, then come along to the forum.
