Overview

Dr Bob Willard , sustainable business expert from Canada , provides an opportunity for government, education business and sustainable practitioner's communities to engage in discussion and action for sustainability.

Bob knows the metrics, engagement strategies and industry drivers for sustainability and how to strategically incorporate these factors into your organization or business

A range of seminar topics and formats will attract those wanting to know more about the quantified advantages of sustainable business practices, updates on sector information and methods to convince business of the sustainability advantage.

In the Latrobe Valley , focus will be on the quantified sustainable business case and will initiate a discussion on a Regional Carbon Neutral Future. Max Dumais of Ahead of the Game will support Bob's afternoon workshop with an electronic meeting system.

Dr Willard, with the support of sustainability experts from interstate, will deliver a 1 day sustainability event for Melbourne 's Western Region. The event will be hosted at the Sustainability award winning Williamstown High School . A Regional Carbon Neutral Future for the West is also included in key topics.

Power Works on 30 October 2007 .

Power Works, LaTrobe City , Try, DSE, SRI Partnerships and VECCI are proud to support these events, as catalysts for long-term business sustainability and Carbon Neutral initiatives.

The Business Sustainability Seminar in the morning features Dr. Bob Willard of Canada , an international expert on the Business Sustainable Advantage, and ex-IBM senior manager and trainer for 32 years. This seminar will provide valuable knowledge and connections for the Gippsland community, having particular benefits for organizations, government, education, business and those wanting to utilise sustainability principles for their business advantage.

The workshop event in the afternoon will be led by Bob delivering sustainability business training to executives and managers. Max Dumais of Ahead of the Game facilitates the workshop with an electronic meeting system – Max established the De Bono Institute in Australia .

A Leadership Lunch will include a discussion led by Bob Willard and Max Dumais on a regional approach to a Carbon Neutral Future.

The National Centre for Sustainability at Swinburne University and the GlobalGreenPlan Foundation are hosting a 1 day Business Sustainable Advantage Seminar and Training Workshop for the Western Regions of Melbourne on 1 November. The event features Dr. Bob Willard of Canada , an international expert on the Business Case for Sustainability, and ex-IBM senior manager and trainer for 32 years.

The morning seminar provides an overview on the benefits for organisations by adopting the Business Sustainability Advantage – how this leads to business opportunities and manages risk while improving the bottom line.

Full day Program Participants will be involved in a networking lunch focusing on the built environment and green supply chain sustainability with an inspection of the sustainability features of this award winning new school.

The workshop in the afternoon will deliver sustainability business training to executives and managers. The workshop features experts from interstate in innovation processes and funding, and green supply chain consultants. Paul Hodgson and Nicole Croker of SRI Partnerships support Dr Bob Willard 's Business Sustainability Metrics Training.

About the Speakers

Bob Willard

Dr Bob Willard from Canada is an internationally renowned expert on the business value of sustainability. He is the author of The Sustainability Advantage: Seven Business Case Benefits of a Triple Bottom Line (2002) and The Next Sustainability Wave: Building Boardroom Buy-in (2005). Bob is in demand as a keynote speaker in many countries. Prior to his full-time engagement in promoting business sustainability, Bob was a senior manager at IBM. Bob's background and expertise provides a direct, down-to-business manner that will appeal to those wanting straight information and results.

Bob's contribution to the business sustainability agenda is unique in that he has quantified the business case for sustainability, showing that businesses can increase profits by up to 46% by implementing sustainability principles. He also focuses on providing convincing arguments for business to buy into the sustainability advantage.

Paul Hodgson

Paul Hodgson of Sustainnovation is based in Brisbane, and he is an experienced facilitator of sustainable business change. He can assist companies increase their economic, social and environmental value.

She also engages with business advisory services to integrate sustainability into their decision-making processes.


Max Dumais

Max consults as a Project Catalyst to the Global Green Plan Foundation. He is a former secretary of the Sustainable Living Foundation and was founding CEO of Edward de Bono's Institute in Australia and specialises in facilitation with the use of electronic meeting systems.
