Houses When I was Young

When I was young houses were much smaller. We used an ice chest to keep our food cold. We put a block of ice in the top of the chest and put things you wanted to keep cold in the bottom. There were only baths, no showers. To the heat water we lit a gas heater, which took time to warm up. We put our clothes in a free standing wardrobe. Fireplaces were the only way to heat the house. Toilets were outside and didn’t flush.

Houses Today

Today houses are a lot bigger. They have electric automatic heaters that heat the house and water. They have electric refrigerators and electric ovens, showers, built in wardrobes and inside toilets that flush.

Public Buildings

Back then, public buildings had no elevators they only had staircases. There were a lot less storeys.

The Future

In the future I think that there will be rooms with a big plasmas and seats for people to watch television.
