Water

When I was young the creeks and rivers use to flood and fill up every year. All the dams were full and there was plenty of water for gardens and lawns and washing cars and plenty for the family homes without any restrictions.

There was an abundance of bird life, animals and marine life which made for great hunting and fishing. I have slowly watched the death and degradation and the slow choking of our creeks and rivers from weeds, gauze bushes and blackberries because of the biggest drought that Australia has seen and because of mans ineptitude to act accordingly at the earliest possible time.

I would like to see more water saving devices made mandatory in the family home and for business. I have had feelings of jubilation and contentment in the past but have looked at the present and the immediate future with great foreboding and I hope to anticipate great joy for the future.
