Title: Environmental Memoir

My name is Carla Cauchi and I interviewed Christine Smith, my nanna who is sixty two years of age and we discussed the environment in Ballarat.

When I was young we didn’t have a lot of pollution in the air and it was a lot cleaner in my day than it is now. The summers weren’t as hot and it was a different environment to grow up in, and we had a lot of rain. Because there are more factories and traffic, the air is getting contaminated especially in the city.

The ozone layer is thinning and now our summers are hotter and we have less rain due to global warming. I grew up in the city but I now live in the country, and I am not affected by these changes unless I go to the city. I try to help the environment by turning off the lights and not using as much energy in the house.
