Industry Training and Support Resources

PHASE 3 of 3

During 2006-2008, NCS worked with a number of national Industry Skills Councils, as outlined below, to develop a range of resource materials to assist in the delivery of the customised industry units. This work focused on lifting the profile of sustainability and resource efficiency within industry and building a framework to assist capacity building for organisations and staff to achieve sustainable implementation and outcomes.

This phase consists of the following components:

  • Developing training, learning and assessment guides
  • Piloting training courses in industry*
  • Reviewing effectiveness of pilot courses*

Construction and Property Services Industry Skills Council(General Construction & Plumbing Services)

Innovation and Business Skills Australia (Business Services)

Seafood Service Australia - Agri-Foods Industry Skills Council(Environmental Management)

Manufacturing Skills Australia(Manufacturing Services)

*All areas in this phase were undertaken by Seafood Services Australia and Manufacturing Skills Australia, but NCS was only involved in the development of the learning resources for those Councils.

Sustainability Guideline Briefs

During this phase we developed industry guideline briefs to assist the range of consultants, training providers, customers and other stakeholders involved in developing and delivering these Training Packages (TPs). The briefs include an overview of the core elements and specific examples of sustainability in relation to the various sectors, including training opportunities. It also provides guidance on some of the available resources for training and assessment of workers in the business, construction and property sectors.
