Introduction to teaching @ Swinburne

Teaching advice

Our general advice when planning for teaching is to focus on desired learning outcomes - that is to focus on what you want students to be able to do as a result of this teaching event - then think of strategies to help students achieve those objectives. Getting the learning outcomes we want often requires more innovative strategies than just talking at students. What is best can vary between teachers, student groups and teaching/learning environments. Some strategies and tips are provided through the links below.

Observe what works well and what doesn't work so well for your subject, students and teaching environment and modify your strategies. If you need assistance talk to your supervisor or contact your Educational Development Advisor.
