Swinburne Psychological
Clinical Health and Evaluation (Swin-PsyCHE) is
a research unit that incorporates staff from
Swinburne Psychology and
encompasses a wide-ranging skills base including
clinical, counselling, health, and developmental
psychologists, methodologists, and program evaluators.
Our Mission is to enhance the welfare of individuals, groups
and the community through research on contemporary
psychological and social issues.
We aim for excellence
in psychological science and practice, embracing
innovation, skills development, and an emphasis
on well-being.
Our focus is the investigation
of behaviour, emotion and cognition, and the practical
application of findings in clinical, health and
social settings.
SwinPsyCHE concentrates on four
main fields of research, with specific researchers
undertaking particular projects within these fields:

Basic Psychological research identifying
psychological processes and factors relevant to
our understanding of the human condition;

Clinical & counselling research identifying
psychological processes and factors relevant to
our understanding of mental illness and other
clinical concerns, and their assessment and management;

Health-related research identifying psychological
factors associated with medical illnesses;

Evaluation research focusing on program
and policy development, especially with respect
to service delivery and systems of care.
