Swinburne Psychological Clinical Health and Evaluation (Swin-PsyCHE) is a research unit that incorporates staff from Swinburne Psychology and encompasses a wide-ranging skills base including clinical, counselling, health, and developmental psychologists, methodologists, and program evaluators.

Our Mission is to enhance the welfare of individuals, groups and the community through research on contemporary psychological and social issues.

We aim for excellence in psychological science and practice, embracing innovation, skills development, and an emphasis on well-being.

Our focus is the investigation of behaviour, emotion and cognition, and the practical application of findings in clinical, health and social settings.

SwinPsyCHE concentrates on four main fields of research, with specific researchers undertaking particular projects within these fields:

  • Basic Psychological research identifying psychological processes and factors relevant to our understanding of the human condition;

  • Clinical & counselling research identifying psychological processes and factors relevant to our understanding of mental illness and other clinical concerns, and their assessment and management;

  • Health-related research identifying psychological factors associated with medical illnesses;

  • Evaluation research focusing on program and policy development, especially with respect to service delivery and systems of care.
