Biography

Paula is a Lecturer in Sociology within the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences discipline group and the Education Development Coordinator (EDC) for the Faculty of Life and Social Sciences.

An associate of The Swinburne Institute, member of The Australian Sociological Association (TASA) and the Higher Education Research and Development Society of Australasia (HERDSA), Paula's research interests lie a the intersection of the scholarly fields addressing 'young people', 'identity' and 'place'.

Prior to working at Swinburne, Paula worked on a host of government and other-funded projects. She completed her PhD at the University of Melbourne in 2005. Her thesis entitled: "'I just can't see myself doing it'. Occupational aspirations and Identities: Young people from family farms, Victoria".
