Biography
After completing undergraduate studies in Queensland, Elizabeth moved to Melbourne where she completed 4 th year psychology at La Trobe University (honours thesis entitled "Stress reactivity: sex differences and temporal variability") and her doctoral research at the University of Melbourne (dissertation entitled "A stress-coping-health analysis of menstrual cycle changes, weekly changes, and chronic negative affect among employed women").
She has held research fellowships at the University of Melbourne (ARC-funded research on the social psychology of group processes) and at the Australian Institute of Family Studies . Elizabeth 's current research spans the areas of social, health and organizational psychology.
Elizabeth was a founding member of the Swinburne Centre for Social Psychology and Organizational Research (CASPOR), which later merged with the Australian Centre for Emerging Technologies and Society (ACETS). In 2008 Elizabeth Hardie and Christine Critchley established the Social Psychology Research Unit (SPRU). This unit conducts basic and applied research using the theories and methods of social psychology to examine Australians' views on issues involving health, science, technology, organisational behaviour and the environment.
