Biography
Research interests in mathematical modelling in sport and gambling. Published over 130 papers in conference proceedings and international journals, mainly on statistical and mathematical modelling in sport, concentrating on forecasting, strategy and home advantage. His research covers many sports, with papers on cricket, squash, tennis, Australian rules football, soccer, rugby, golf, volleyball, and the Olympic Games. In recent years his work has found applications in gaming, with papers on dog racing, roulette, video poker and sports gambling. Associated with Champion Data, the official collector and provider of Australian Football League statistics, and Sportsbet21, provider of real time odds for betting on Cricket and Tennis. Best known locally for his Australian rules football computer tipping predictions, which have appeared for many years in various media outlets. His research work gains regular coverage in the press, radio and television.
