Biography

Bruce came to the study of Psychology after several years as an industrial engineer, managing to balance work, study and raising a family. He was heavily involved in the introductory psychology laboratory program at the University of Melbourne while studying for his research Masters degree, an experience which led him to write a successful book "How to write psychology research reports and essays", now in its 5th edition, and widely used in Australian, New Zealand and Japanese universities.

Bruce has also been involved in relationship education with Lifeworks, raising the consciousness of couples about the demands (and joys) of committed relationships. Bruce joined Swinburne as a lecturer in 1992 after gaining his MSc, and continued to balance study and other commitments, gaining his PhD in 1999. He is a registered Psychologist, and a member of the Australian Psychological Society.
