Attend an Industry-Based Learning Information Session
Here's what students on recent IBL placements have said about the experience:
The IBL experience was beneficial on many levels, from the development of a transferable set of practical skills to dealing with the interpersonal relationships you develop between patients and staff.
The information you learn in the universities' lecture theatres are put to the test in a real life situation and you are realistically able to appraise your career plan.
I will continue working there part-time while I finish my course, and have been told that there is a full-time place for me once I do.
I feel that the knowledge I have gained and the skills I have improved throughout my IBL placement will greatly help me in the future and will prepare me extremely well for a career in the industry.
My IBL placement has confirmed to me what a good and fortunate decision I made.
I have found the IBL year to be an extremely enjoyable, rewarding and a maturing experience.
...feel more motivated with where I would like to take my career path.
IBL has opened up many doors for me in terms of future employment.
After attending an information session you are encouraged to register your interest early for 2012 and 2013 IBL placements at http://www.swinburne.edu.au/lss/ibl/sform.php. The Cooperative Education Office will then contact you about how to access placements available.
