Visual and Cognitive Neurosciences Research Unit

Unit Leader: Professor David Crewther

Introduction:

This unit carries out fundamental research into neuronal functional sub-serving human behaviours. Central to these studies are issues of attention and conscious awareness, which have been investigated using psychophysical tests, non-linear visual evoked potentials, event-related potentials, transcranial magnetic stimulation and functional MRI. Phenomena investigated include saccadic suppression, change blindness, auditory-visual illusions, cross-modal attention, binocular rivalry, attentional blink, visual and attentional masking.
