The Centre for Neuropsychology (SCNP) and the Brain Sciences
Institute(BSI) were amalgamated in 2005 to form the new Brain
Sciences Institute. These were an important integration of nearly
all research in cognitive neuroscience at Swinburne. This new
Institute is now a clearly visible research landmark in several
exciting research areas. In 2006 Prof. Andrew Wood's Cellular
Neuroscience Research Unit and some of the staff from Assoc.
Prof. David Liley's Centre for Intelligent Systems and Complex
Processes joined the Brain Sciences Institute and in 2007 Dr.
Greg Murray from Psychology joined the Institute.
Objectives of the Brain Sciences Institute
Research

industry Grants and to publish in peer reviewed international
journals.
All BSI research projects are approved through relevant research
ethics Committees.
