Our mission is to undertake excellent basic and applied research in brain and psychological sciences, in order to improve understanding of the human condition and contribute to the well-being of individuals and communities.
Overview
The Brain and Psychological Sciences Research Centre (BPsyC) brings together different disciplines with common interests in biopsychosocial factors associated with the healthy and dysfunctional human mind and brain.
Our research staff are actively involved in teaching and engaged with industry and the community. Our partnerships and collaborations promote innovative solutions to scientific and community concerns.
Our state of the art equipment includes magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), Magnetoencephalography (MEG), electroencephalography (EEG), trans-cranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), a radiofrequency (RF) laboratory,a computer-assisted interview facility (CATI), and a national internet-based psychological assessment & treatment centre (National e-Therapy Centre; NeTC).

Focuses on understanding and treating psychological dysfunction, and improving outcomes for people suffering mental health and cognitive disorders.

This teaching/research nexus exposes students at all levels to BPsyC researchers and often leads to our students exploring the options of undertaking research degrees and pursuing careers in research.
