Finding Journal Articles
Databases enable you to search for articles on a particular topic:
- Academic Search Complete on Ebscohost Provides full text for over 5,300 journals covering the social sciences and humanities
- Australia/New Zealand Reference Centre on Ebscohost Contains full text articles from selected Australian newspapers, journals, and reference books.
- APA-FT (Australian Public Affairs Full Text) on Informit Index to thousands of social sciences and humanities articles, includes full text articles from more than 200 Australian journal titles.
- Communication & Mass Media Complete on Ebscohost Indexes articles in communication and mass media. Articles from selected journals are available in fulltext.
- Communications & Mass Media Collection on Gale Collection of journal articles covering communication and mass media.
- Elibrary Australia Contains full text articles from selected Australian newspapers including The Australian and the Herald-Sun.
- Ejournals Database on Ebscohost Electronic Journal Service indexes thousands of electronic journal titles. Full text available online for selected titles.
- Expanded Academic ASAP on Gale A multidisciplinary database covering a range of subjects.
- Factiva Contains full text articles from hundreds of major newspapers.
- Film & Television Literature Index with Fulltext on Ebscohost Subjects covered include film and television theory, writing, production, technical aspects, and reviews. Full text available for selected journals and books.
- Film Literature Index Online Index to 150 film and television periodicals from 30 countries cover-to-cover and 200 other periodicals selectively. Covers the period 1976-2001and scholarly as well as popular titles.
- MediaScan on Informit A bibliographic database featuring articles indexed from daily newspapers including: Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The Australian, Herald Sun, Bulletin.
- Sage Journals Full text access to over 450 peer reviewed journals published by Sage, access is generally from 1999 onwards.
- Scopus The world’s largest abstract and indexing database. It also includes the journals indexed by ScienceDirect and has 100% Medline coverage. ScienceDirect Full text science database, with a strong coverage of psychology.
- TV News on Informit Provides online access to news, current affairs and selected documentary programs that have been broadcast on Australian television such as Four Corners, Media Watch and Cutting Edge.

- Taylor & Francis Online Full text access to over 1000 scholarly research journals including media and film studies titles.
- Web of Science includes the Arts & Humanities Citation Index.
