Library Services for Staff

We are here to help you in your teaching at Swinburne

Library access

  • Six campus libraries - you can use them all
  • You can use the online resources anytime, anywhere
  • Opening hours vary between campuses and througout the year
  • The LateLab at Hawthorn is open 24 hours for access to computer workstations and electronic resources

You need...

  • A Swinburne ID card and SIMS password - for borrowing, placing holds, renewing books, and other self-service functions
  • A SIMS password for access to databases, subject materials online, access to some materials from off campus and as a login for computer workstations.
  • A Swinburne email account - Library notices are sent to this address. You can forward Swinburne email to an email address of your choice at the link here

Help with log in

  • SIMS and other IT enquiries, contact the ITS Service Desk 9214 5000
  • If your staff ID barcode has 8 numbers in it, for example, U12345678 it can be activated for LateLab access. If not, you will need to get a new photo ID from any student information centre. It can then be activated for you at any Library service desk.
