Notes about online journals
- Check the availabile dates shown next to a journal. Some journals are available in more than one database and may be avaialble for different dates in different databases.
- There are embargoes on some online journals. In most cases the embargo is noted in the available dates as shown in the online journals listings, however in some cases the embargo may not be stated. Check the database containing the online journal.
- Online journal holdings in some databases can change frequently and without notice. This is especially so for aggregator databases such as ProQuest, EBSCOhost and InfoTrac.
- The online journals directory is updated nightly but there can be delays in updating changes in availability of titles and dates. See the known issues and problems page for more information.
Journal impact factors
Some databases publish statistics such as impact factors, which is the number of citation events for papers in the journal divided by the number of papers published in the journal. Read our quick guide to finding journal impact factors >>
