CAVAL membership allows you to borrow from other Victorian academic libraries.

National Borrowing Scheme
Borrow in person from other interstate university libraries.
Apply in person from the library you wish to borrow from.
Eligibility
Most Swinburne students and staff, except OUA students, are eligible for the CAVAL and National Borrowing programs. However, you will not be issued with a CAVAL card, or have your current card reauthorised, if you have:
- Current overdue item(s) and/or a fine of $10.00 or more
- Accrued fines of $80 or more during the last 12 months
- Two or more previous CAVAL suspensions
- A current CAVAL suspension
- Outstanding CAVAL invoice debt
- Security gate breaches or damaging Swinburne property
- A history of anti-social behaviour in the library
