WICT Lunch with Carla Romero

Swinburne Women in ICT invite you to hear the Director of Programs, Computing Research Association, of one of the USA´s leading organisations working in this arena talk on: "Strategies to attract more students, particularly girls, into ICT courses" by Carla Romero, Director of Programs, Computing Research Association.

About the Speaker:
Carla is involved with a broad range of programs focusing on human resources, community-building, and connecting CRA with the other organizations advancing science and engineering. Carla is the recipient of service awards including the 1993 NASA Training Project Hero Award for her support of underrepresented group students in STEM. Carla also supports several CRA committees including the Status of Women in Computing Research (CRA-W), Coalition to Diversity Computing (CDC) and the IT Deans Group.

Carla visited Australia to give several presentations and workshops. One session at Swinburne University of Technology was attended by Careers teachers. She provided excellent information on CRA activities in the USA.
