Aims and Objectives of RISO

We are aiming to become a well-recognised and regarded cohort of Information Systems researchers, undertaking largely empirically-based, applied research of interest and relevance to key constituents in the broad Information Systems community.

Strategies to achieve this broad aim over time include:

  • Development of a network of talented, qualified, research-able and research-active IS academics through recruitment, collaboration and internal mentoring
  • Building a vibrant cohort of research students (Honours, Masters and PhDs)
  • Engaging in a variety of industry, government and academic collaborations
  • Active communication and promotion of research activities and outcomes
  • Targeting publications at recognised international and national IS and related conferences
  • Increasing pulications in IS and related journals, with the expectation of increasing quality over time
  • Publication in professional magazines and outlets, industry reports, and the like
  • To gain funding throuigh a variety of grant schemes, funded industry research, consultancies, and other revenue raising activities.

  • Provision of empirically-based aids to decision making and lessons (improved frameworks, models, methods, tools, techniques, insights and understandings) to support improved practices and outcomes in a variety of IS related fields.

  • Dissemination of findings (about content and process) as widely as possible

  • The production of robust, industry relevant research outcomes
