How to collaborate with the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies.
The Faculty of ICT at Swinburne has a long and proud record of excellence in teaching and research. We also place a strong emphasis on establishing and maintaining our links with industry. Collaborative research, industry-based learning (IBL) and tailored industry training courses are just a few of the ways organisations and Swinburne can work together. Teams of final year students regularly develop software for external organisations. We welcome your involvement with the Faculty of ICT, and ongoing involvement with staff and students.
Please contact our Industry Liaison Office for further information about how your organisation can work with the Faculty of ICT.

Industry-Based Learning
The Faculty of ICT has a strong industry focus. Most of our students
commence challenging, well-paid jobs in industry when they graduate.
Our curriculum and industry-based learning program focuses on ensuring
that students gain the necessary knowledge and skills through direct
industry experience. We work closely with both organisations and
students to ensure that placements are of benefit to all involved.
We invite organisations to participate in the following programs:
Research Partnerships with Industry
The Faculty of ICT’s major research centres have a successful
history of working with research and industry partners to ensure
our research programs target industry-specific problems and the
needs and demands of society.
The Faculty incorporates the following research centres:
Information Technology Innovation Group (ITIG)
ITIG aims to provide quality research and development services to the information technology industry by providing innovative and state-of-the-art computing solutions to industry problems. ITIG recently, in a world-first medical trial, developed a superscreen on the wall of the Alfred Hospital's
trauma bay that prompts medical staff on the next step of care needed to stabilise patients.
