ABSTRACT: CAE is a world leader in providing simulation and modelling technologies and integrated training solutions for the civil aviation industry and defence forces around the globe. We also offer modelling and simulation software to various market segments and, through CAE's professional services division, we assist customers with a wide range of simulation-based needs.
Based in Melbourne, Canberra and Adelaide, CAE Professional Services Australia provides Capability Engineering, Analysis & Simulation and Software & Systems Engineering services to the Defence, National Security, Healthcare and Mining sectors. In this talk, we provide an overview of the concepts and benefits of Modelling & Simulation. Examples of its use are: for pilot and crew training; major defence projects such as the acquisition of the Joint Strike Fighter; visualisation in the mining industry; and support for the training of first responders and healthcare professionals in moderate to large scale emergencies. We also discuss the direction of the modelling & simulation industry.
