Course Description
This four year degree has been designed to produce graduates with a systematic body of knowledge in the software engineering field, a strong understanding of underlying principles and concepts, and the associated communication and problem-solving skills required by a professional software engineer. Students will develop academic skills necessary to undertake research, comprehend and evaluate new information, concepts and evidence from a range of sources.
Aims & Objectives
- Develop broad engineering principles in underlying software and systems technologies and an ability to apply that knowledge
- Understanding of appropriate engineering methods and techniques
- To develop communication skills that can be presented clearly within the engineering community
Entry Requirements
Successful completion of an appropriate Victorian Year 12 or its equivalent, such as an interstate or international Year 12 qualification.
VCE Prerequisites: Units 3 and 4 – a study score of at least 20 in English (any), a study score of at least 20 in Mathematical Methods (CAS) or Specialist Mathematics.
Program Structure
Students take a total of 32 subjects (or equivalent) over four years full-time plus one year optional Industry-Engaged Learning. Entry is possible in Semester 1 (Feburuary) only.
