Local Committees

Across the world there are thousands of students involved in IAESTE Local Committees. Why not join one today!


IAESTE Local Committees (LC) are student-run committees made up of past, current and future IAESTE trainees promoting the benefits of international exchange.Student members assist in the coordination of trainee arrival and housing, social activities, university and industry promotions and other marketing initiatives.Joining an LC provides great opportunities for students to develop their leadership and communication skills whilst increasing their cultural awareness. Active LC members are eligible for a priority placement for IAESTE traineeships.

    Tim Jones - LC Melbourne, President

    My 2009 traineeship in Switzerland inspired me to join the LC Melbourne as I believe it gives young professionals the opportunity to develop their personal skills within a relaxed and social environment. The LC generates real-life problems to be solved and I’ve had fun with the trainees and other LC members along the way.

    Asako Bliek - LC Perth

    IAESTE opened the opportunity to live overseas, travel every weekend and make friends from around the world - all whilst gaining valuable industry experience. Getting involved in the LC Perth means giving more students the chance to go abroad and making sure the incoming trainees have an unforgettable experience in Australia!

    To me, becoming a member of the IAESTE LC Brisbane meant that I would have the chance to meet like minded people from all over the world, and that I would have an opportunity to assist in making the incoming trainees' stay in Brisbane a more enjoyable one.
