Employers - Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of students are available for traineeships? |
|---|
|
When are trainees available? |
|
How do I request the exact type of student I am looking for? |
|
When do I need to request a student – is there a deadline? |
Ideally it is best to submit your offers of training by January each year, in time for the IAESTE conference when the offers of training are exchanged between member countries. There is a larger pool of applicants at this time of year but it is still possible to source students at any time of year. |
Who arranges the visa? |
IAESTE Australia arranges all the visa documents for students under the Special Program Visa. Visas can be arranged for up to 12 months. If employers host a student initially for 6 months and would then like to extend the work period up to another 6 months, it is possible to extend the visa to a maximum 12 month period in total. |
What other support does IAESTE provide? |
IAESTE assists students with arrival and accommodation and an organised social program through the Local Committees (student run committees). |
What will it cost? |
|
What if I have independently sourced a student from overseas that I want to employ but don’t know how to organise the visa? |
| IAESTE Australia can also assist in organising work visas on behalf of employers who source an overseas student themselves. This is called a Reserved Offer. |
