AISEF Profile
The Australia-Israel Scientific Exchange Foundation (AISEF) was established in 1997, with the specific vision to nurture ties between the academic institutions of Australia and Israel.
In the words of the AISEF Declaration of Trust:
“The Trustees have decided to create a fund, to be known as the Australia-Israel Scientific Exchange Foundation, for the purpose of fostering and supporting scientific and academic exchange between Australia and Israel…”
The Foundation provides support for exchange programs, academic visits, collaborative research and development projects. The exchange of scientific and technological information is augmented by lectures, exhibitions, seminars and publications. The Foundation has pursued close links with the governments of Australia and Israel as well as the peak research bodies in each country. A major initiative was the establishment of the Australia-Israel Fellowship Award.* This was the first collaborative venture between the Australian Research Council (ARC) and a private philanthropic organization (AISEF and the Pratt Foundation).
The Australia-Israel Scientific Exchange Foundation serves the academic communities of Australia and Israel, and the benefit which the cooperation and collaboration between the two countries brings can be shared by all.
