The Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship primarily sponsors the Exchange to facilitate the dissemination of research information and act as a mechanism to promote serious study of entrepreneurship. Efforts to assemble the most current work in entrepreneurial research includes: a wide circulation of the call for papers by encouraging research that crosses disciplinary lines, involves joint efforts between academics and practitioners promoting a diversity of perspectives that may contributes to the understanding of entrepreneurial phenomena
The dissemination of research takes place through the Exchange itself, and encourages researchers to present their current work to interested colleagues, by publishing the papers and summaries each year in REGIONAL FRONTIERS, and by providing a CD Rom of all papers presented. Dissemination and encouragement of research are facilitated by limiting attendance at the Conference to those with an active focus on research. The conference program will involve a number of parallel streams. These can only be finally determined when all the abstracts have been received. However, the following topics are a guideline of which areas are most likely to be covered during the conference: - Corporate entrepreneurship and innovation
- Entrepreneurship theory and practice
- Entrepreneurship Education
- GEM (Global Entrepreneurship Monitor)

- Indigenous entrepreneurship
- Networks and policy
- Social entrepreneurship
- Strategy, markets and management
- Technological innovation and new technology spin-off ventures
