Professor KEVIN HINDLE, Swinburne University of Technology, Australia
School of Entrepreneurship, Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia. He is a researcher, educator, management consultant and private equity investor. His variety of expertise and interests embrace many aspects of managing in conditions of uncertainty. His research, teaching, managerial and consulting work focuses on entrepreneurial business planning but includes: investment evaluation, market and financial modelling, change management, organisational design, corporate strategy and management training. Emeritus Professor MURRAY GILLIN, Swinburne University of Technology, Australia
Murray Gillin is Emeritus Professor of Entrepreneurship & Innovation and and Excecutive Director, AGSE International Entrepreneurship Research Exchange at the Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship, Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne. Murray was the winner of the Inaugural 2001 Best Entrepreneurial Educator of the Year and founder of Australia’s and the World’s first Masters Degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation (MEI). Though he retired in late ’98, he has remained actively involved in the teaching of the MEI program in both Australia and Israel. Professor PER DAVIDSSON, Queensland University of Technology, Australia
Per Davidsson is Professor of Entrepreneurship and Director of Research at the Brisbane Graduate School of Business, Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane. He is also Director of the research program Entrepreneurship & Innovation within the Faculty of Business. Per is especially known for his extensive research on start-up and growth of small firms as well as the job creation and societal well-being effects of those activities. Dr SIRI TERJESEN, Queensland University of Technology, Australia
Siri Terjesen is a post-doctoral research fellow at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia, and summer teaches at the London School of Economics and Political Science’s programmes in London and Beijing at the University of Peking. Siri completed a PhD at Cranfield School of Management in the UK and a Master’s in International Business as a Fulbright Scholar to the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration in Bergen, Norway. arrowMore information

Dr PAUL STEFENS, Queensland University of Technology, Australia
Dr Paul Steffens is an Adjunct Professor at the Brisbane Graduate School of Business, specialising in innovation and technology management. Until recently, Paul was Associate Director of the Technology and Innovation Management Centre, University of Queensland where he was Director of the Master of Technology Management. Previous appointments include the Graduate School of Management, University of Queensland and Syme School of Marketing, Monash University and visiting positions at Penn State University and Southern Illinois University. arrowMore information

DEAN SHEPHERD, Indiana University, USA
Dean Shepherd’s research has been widely published in several books and in leading journals, including The Academy of Management Review; Journal of Business Venturing and The Journal of Management. A native of Australia, Shepherd came to Indiana University from the University of Colorado-Boulder’s Leeds School of Business. His teaching interests include entrepreneurship and strategic management, and teaches courses in the MBA program in venture strategies and venture screening. He also directs doctoral students studying entrepreneurship at Kelley and MBA students involved with the school’s Entrepreneurship Academy. His research focuses on decision-making by entrepreneurs, new venture strategy, venture capital, growth and optimisation. He also is on the editorial boards of all major entrepreneurship journals. Shepherd received his MBA degree and doctorate from Bond University in Australia and a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from RMIT University.

Dr MARCO VAN GELDEREN, Massey University, NZ
Dr van Gelderen is Senior Lecturer at Massey University Auckland campus. He has degrees in economy from Erasmus University Rotterdam and psychology from the University of Amsterdam. After working for EIM Zoetermeer, he completed his PhD at the Free University of Amsterdam. Dr van Gelderen then worked for the Entrepreneurship Center of the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) of Erasmus University. arrowMore information

Dr JOHN YENCKEN, Swinburne University of Technology, Australia
John Yencken is an Adjunct Teaching Fellow at the Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship (AGSE), Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne. John originally worked as an industrial research chemist. He then ran a family company in the glass business and since 1966 has worked as a management consultant. John was a government appointed member of the Council of the Australian National University from 1966 to 1983. He was Foundation Chair of Anutech Pty Ltd., a University owned company managing technology marketing, patents and consulting services. In 1996, 1998 and 2000, John was Co-chair of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Expert Panel in the Cooperative Research Centre Program. He is presently Visitor to the CRC for Wood Innovations. In 2005, he was for several months Interim CEO of that CRC. Over the period 1999-2005 John completed a PhD at the AGSE. His research topic was “The role of spin-off companies in the commercialisation of university and other public sector research outcomes in Australia”. In 2004 he carried out a consultancy for the Australian Commonwealth Department of Education, Science and Training on "The effectiveness of incentives to academic researchers to commercialise their research outcomes”. His current research interests include policy settings to support the growth of high-growth / high-expectation businesses.

Dr ALISTAIR CAMPBELL, University of South Australia, Australia
Dr Campbell is Senior Research Lecturer at the University of South Australia. He has a background in both Engineering and Business, and a career that consists of roughly equal periods in industry and academia. His initial years were spent in project management of railway traffic safety systems, before branching out into his own business for several years. In 1992 Campbell joined the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Cape Town, and left there as Assistant Dean of Engineering to join SEEC at the University of South Australia in November 2005. arrowMore information

Associate Professor JOHN WATSON, University of Western Australia, Australia
John is Associate Professor of Accounting and Finance at the University of Western Australia, having joined in January 1976. John formerly worked as a chartered accountant and was Head of Department for three years from 1991-93. He completed his PhD in 1995. Dr ALEX MARITZ, Swinburne University of Technology, Australia
Dr Alex Maritz is Senior Lecturer and Program Director of the Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (MEI) at the Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship, Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne. Alex has a background in executive management, having held positions of Sales and Marketing Director, Chief Operating Officer, and Managing Director for multi-nationals such as Sony Playstation, Glaxo SmithKline, Boots Pharmaceuticals and Blockbuster. He sustained these directorships in excess of 10 years, prior to embarking on an academic career some three years ago. TAN WEE LIANG, Singapore Management University, Singapore
Tan Wee Liang is Associate Professor of Management at Singapore Management University in Singapore. He has been the Director of ENDEC (the Nayang Technological Universtiy Entrepreneurship Development Centre) that championed entrepreneurship and enterprise development. He also serves on editorial boards for the Journal of Smaill Business Management, Enterprise and Innovation Management Studies and the Journal of Enterprising Culture, of which he is the managing editor. arrowMore information

 

FRANCEEN REIHANA, Unitec, NZ
Franceen is a lecturer and Program Director of the Graduate Diploma in Leadership (Māori Development) program at Unitec. She is a graduate from Massey University with academic qualifications in accounting, international business and business management. She has lectured in business and communication courses for the past seven years at Massey University and Unitec. She is a member of the 2005 GEM Aotearoa NZ team. Her research interests include leadership, governance, all aspects of management, sustainable development and entrepreneurship. She also has a particular interest in Māori business research.

 

Dr HOWARD FREDERICK, Unitec, NZ
Dr Howard Frederick is Professor at the School of Management and Entrepreneurship, Unitec. A New Zealander of American heritage and Stanford grad with broad European and Latin American experience, Professor Frederick is recognised as an authority in the field of ICT, business innovation, and economic growth. He is the author of New Zealand’s first Knowledge Economy report 1999, the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor New Zealand 2002 and 2001 reports as well as of numerous articles and books. Current activities include: Global research on SMEs benchmarking New Zealand with the rest of the world; Teaching and organising courses for (particularly West Auckland) SMEs on technology, and business-related subjects; Working with New Zealand’s only Master of Innovation and Entrepreneurship program; Consulting with Economic Development Agencies and SMEs.

 

Professor NOELJ LINDSAY, University of Adelaide, Australia
Professor Noel Lindsay is Director of The Education Centre for Innovation and Commercialisation, at the University of Adelaide. In business, Professor Lindsay has hands-on international entrepreneurship and venture capitalist experience. In academia, he launched/developed three university entrepreneurship centres that undertake research, teaching, and community outreach activities. His research interest areas are entrepreneurship, innovation, private equity and Indigenous entrepreneurship.
