Experiential Learning

Students ‘learn by doing’ by a major emphasis throughout their study on industry-based, problem-based and project-based learning, intended to engage and excite the new generation of students that are increasingly disengaged and disenchanted with conventional education. Online delivery of appropriate learning resources are available to support the students’ need for just-in-time learning."

Formula SAE Car

A good example of this real-world experience is Swinburne’s involvement in the Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) competition, where students have designed and built a small racing car.

These features of Swinburne's Professional Learning Model are available to domestic students undertaking undergraduate bachelor degree programs offered at Swinburne's Melbourne and Sarawak campuses. Restrictions apply to international students in Australia on student visas, students admitted into programs with significant levels of advanced standing and students who undertake Swinburne programs in online/distance mode, designed and offered in conjunction with overseas or industry partners or delivered by Open Universities Australia. For further information on all Swinburne undergraduate programs, contact the Swinburne Student Information Centre, phone 1300 368 777.
