The Department of Media and Communication has a distinguished record of pedagogical excellence and innovation led by academics who have won over 30 national and institutional teaching awards. We foster student employability through connections with industry, including media and cultural organisations such as the Australian Centre for the Moving Image. The Department offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees that take full advantage of our strong industry links. Our students are offered exciting opportunities to participate in internships and work-integrated learning experiences.

Professional Recognition

The Public Relations major is fully accredited by the Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA). Public relations graduates may be eligible for membership of PRIA.

Students enrolled in the Journalism major may be eligible for student membership of the Melbourne Press Club and the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA).
