Transportation engineering

The transport engineering group conducts research into the planning, design, operation and management of sustainable transport infrastructure to meet the efficient and safe movement of road users and freight.

Our research covers a number of areas including asset management and applications of technology and sustainability principles to the planning, design, and operation of low carbon mobility systems.

Our current research focus includes:

  • smart mobility and urban technology assessment and applications
  • strategic transport planning, modelling and analysis
  • operational modelling and traffic simulation
  • asset management and pavement technology.
