Courses for current industry professionals seeking further career enhancement

The Postgraduate programs have been designed primarily to meet the needs of those currently involved, or seeking to be employed, in the aviation industry who wish to upgrade their skills at tertiary level. The content of the courses can also be applied to other related businesses and services. A unique aspect of these programs is that they have been developed in partnership with the aviation industry to ensure the content reflects the dynamics of this rapidly changing area. The contribution of of industry professionals and specialists to the course content ensures you have access to accurate, timely and practical applications throughout your studies.

These programs are offered off-campus by distance education. Students are also required to attend a three day Swinburne Aviation Industry seminar, held at Swinburne’s Hawthorn campus at least once during the course of their studies. Students with significant travel problems may seek approval to attend an approved equivalent seminar.

Applications are encouraged from those currently employed in the air transport, airport and related industries or university graduates. The level at which applicants will be admitted (e.g. graduate certificate, graduate diploma, master) will depend on their level of work experience, knowledge and previous study. Students located either within Australia or overseas are eligible to apply.

Postgraduate programs are offered in Management and Human Factors. Programs are offered as a nested suite, offering students that opportunity to exit at the graduate certificate, graduate diploma or master stage. They offer great flexibility through a wide choice of course specific units and elective units.

The course develops your understanding of the multiple facets of human factors training and application and also provides insight into management of the air transportation industry.

Annual Aviation Seminar Series
Swinburne University welcomes individual and corporate participants from aviation and other industries to this key event in the aviation calendar. The three day seminar focuses on air transportation management and aviation human factors featuring presentations by Australian and international industry members.
