We are delighted to invite you to the inaugural Swinburne Celebrates Research Conference 2017, a 2-day event that will offer a platform for sharing research practice experience. At Swinburne we believe that our researchers have the ability to make meaningful and significant contributions in all fields of study, so we encourage every level of researcher to come and share your expertise creating an environment where we can connect with colleagues and find inspiration.
Who will attend
This program aims to have the broadest possible attendance of research staff and students across the university, ranging all significant levels of their career, representing the whole research life cycle at Swinburne.
We have invited a range of our industry partners, external stakeholders and research council representatives to contribute to the collaboration inspiring interest and engagement in our key topics and themes.
Topics and themes
- Presentations by Early Career Researchers (ECRs) and PhD Students
- Keynote Presentations from Laureate Professor Peter Doherty and Leanne Harvey, acting Chief Executive Officer of the ARC
- Swinburne's five Research Institutes
- Networking session, plus a fabulous line up of speakers.
The call for posters closed on 12 May 2017.
Finalists will present their successful poster at our conference on 22–23 June 2017.
Prizes for posters are $300, $200 and $100. All accepted entries will receive a prize of two movie vouchers for contributing to the success of the conference.
The call for abstracts closed on 28 April 2017.
Finalists will present their successful abstract or paper at our conference on 22–23 June 2017.
Prizes of $3000, $2000 and $1000 will be awarded at the conference for the best abstracts.
Abstracts and posters will be judged on the following three criteria by a faculty committee led by the Associate Dean Research:
- Content (originality, methods, data analysis and conclusion)
- The clinical/practical/theoretical relevance
- The quality of the written text, including fit with conference/institute themes.
