National Sorry Day
|Date:||Friday 25 May 2018|
|Time:||11am - 12pm|
|Venue:||Wakefield Street Gardens, Hawthorn Campus|
National Sorry Day is a day when we acknowledge and recognise the ongoing impact of the forcible removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families. Positioned at the start of National Reconciliation week, this day reminds us why our country needs to reconcile and prompts us to consider how we can work together to deliver justice and healing.
On Friday 25 May, Swinburne staff and students will gather in Wakefield Gardens to reflect and acknowledge. Attendees will be given a native hibiscus flower to signify our shared commitment to the healing process. The event will include a performance by the choir SOUL and refreshments will be provided.
