This seminar will focus on the experience of caring with a special focus on Dementia. It will involve a panel covering different perspectives such as from the counselling and caring experiences.
Mr Mark Silver is a social worker who specialises in counselling psychology, mental health, psychotherapy and group therapy.
Dr Di Clifton is a senior consultant psychiatrist and Medical Director of Psychosocial Cancer Care at St Vincent’s Hospital and Caritas Christi.
About the Seminar Series
Swinburne’s Seminar Series on Ageing has been running for more than five years and is the only one of its kind in Australia. The series attracts presenters who are experts in geropsychology and covers issues relating to late life conditions and treatments.
The seminars are suitable for clinicians and trainee clinicians but can be understood by a broader range of people including consumers, families and carers. The Seminar Series is free and open to the public.
About the Wellbeing Clinic for Older Adults
The Wellbeing Clinic for Older Adults is a confidential counselling and support service for older adults living in residential and community settings. This service is run by psychology, counselling and social work students through Swinburne University of Technology.
