Indigenous Matters and the Department of Health and Medical Sciences at Swinburne University of Technology invite you to the launch of the Family Matters campaign and report into experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in out-of-home care.
Culture is fundamental to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's health and well-being. Traditional practices including sharing food, performing ceremony and exchanging knowledge, ensure continuity of culture and connection to land.
Our panel presentation will explore how connection to country, community and culture is necessary to create safe places for children to grow and develop, establishing a strong foundation for health and well-being in later life.
